World’s First Autonomous, Human-Size Drone

As early as WW1, the US military began experimenting with unmanned aircraft. By WWII, unmanned aerial vehicles could be controlled by radio signals.

On 6th January 2016, the Chinese drone manufacturer EHang unveiled EHang 184, an all-electric quadcopter the size of a Smart car, at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The first fully electric autonomous aerial vehicle is capable of carrying one passenger up to 220 pounds over short distances and is good enough for a 23-minute flight.

Though this may be a great alternative to beat traffic and stay relaxed while waiting for the transport to land on the chosen destination, the public might want to consider safety. What if the engines fail? But even if there are so many concerns on accident, most people still think that the concept is undeniably cool!

So for those who love excitement, fly high and enjoy the view!

Tesla’s Lithium – Ion Battery Factory

The construction on Tesla’s giant lithium-ion battery factory at the 980-acre site in an industrial park east of Reno, Nevada has already started and is scheduled to be completed in 2020. The enormous plant is intended to produce 500,000 battery packs a year which will mostly be used for the company’s declared affordable mass-market electric car, Model 3. Elon Musk, Tesla’s CEO, has said his company will start producing the vehicle in 2017 at their auto-assembly shop in Fremont, California.

The impressive manufacturing facility is expected to cost $5 billion and engage about 6,500 employees, thus creating more occupation. Reno which is known as the “Biggest Little City in the World” will not only attract tourists going to casinos but more employment as well. “Great Job” Tesla for the work opportunities!

Cheers to 2016!

Another year has gone by and by now most people are done drawing up their resolution list. Whatever it is we wish for 2016, may we have the determination to fulfill our targets no matter how hard we think it would be to achieve them. Goals push us forward and direct us to what we want to be in the future. We need to focus on what we have decided upon in order to accomplish our objectives. And even if we encounter failures during the process, may we learn to collect our thoughts quickly and continue on believing we can do it. At the end of the day, we can look back and say we have made it happen.

Cheers to a New Year!

Model X

Model X is 12 years in the making! Who would have thought of that? Well, Model X was made to attract new customers, reports say particularly women. It was on sale when it was launched to cope up with the booming luxury SUVs in the U.S. They said the luxury sale went up to 17 percent through August and it was five times better than the industry as a whole. This is great news!

Elon Musk, Chief Executive Officer, said “ Model X sets a new bar for automotive engineering, with unique features like rear falcon-wing doors, which open upward, and a driver’s door that opens on approach and closes itself when the drive is inside. All these things together make the car amazing.” I second the motion. Indeed, Model X is changing the way people look at car these days. Good job, Elon Musk!
