How big is soccer in the United States?

As my children are now playing competitive soccer, And I noticed that hundreds of other children from my area are also practicing soccer in one way or another, it is either with the YMCA or the city recreational programs, or even with a nonprofit soccer club. One thing that I did not know and I am actually very surprised that the most practice sports in the United States among children from the age of 3 to 10 is actually soccer.

I was talking to a good friend of mine from the city of Port Orange, on the other side of the nation over in Florida, he runs a Goalkeeper Academy And I asked him if he knew the numbers on a nationwide scale. Being a fully licensed coach and most probably one of the best goalkeeper coaches in Central Florida, he knows his numbers as well. California is the states where soccer is practice the most and not just among children in second place we have Texas but it only had a third of the numbers California, third Place comes Florida and they only have a quarter of our numbers.

What is the fastest growing sport in the United States of America? Yes sir! Soccer! In 1992 it was the ninth most practice sports in the country today it is the fifth, of course the national sports such as football, basketball, baseball and softball a very difficult to overtake, but as many experts have already said, soccer should be the number one sport in the United States within 2050.

Stop kneeling down during the national anthem!

I truly do believe that this is actually abusing of the liberties that we have in this great nation, kneeling down during the national anthem is disrespectful not only to the flag and its Constitution but to all the American people are proud of this great nation.

Maybe it is time that the various sports Associations either scholastic or professional to take measures against the people that are disrespecting with their silent protest the United States of America and its people.

United we stand, that is most probably the most common phrase that we Americans use, we are known to stand together in victory and in difficult times, this kind of protest is not only absolutely disgusting, but it also should be made anti-constitutional. Maybe I’m exaggerating a little, but I don’t care what color your skin is, you can be white, yellow, red or black it doesn’t matter we are all Americans and kneeling down in protest during our national anthem should not be allowed.

What is the fastest growing sport in America today?

Among the youths from age 7 to 17 the fastest growing sport in the United States of America and our neighbors in Canada in the game of soccer or better known around the world as football.
There are three states in particular that have massive numbers of children playing soccer all year round and the reason that they play sports or year-round in because all the states temperatures, those three states with the California, Texas and Florida, but unbelievably Arizona and New Mexico followed right behind them.

Some very important statistics are that the possibility of getting a college scholarship, or better still a sportsman scholarship from high school to college in soccer is one out of 16, so basically two players out of each and every single high school around this great nation will actually get free tuition and play soccer also in college.

While the baseball it is 786, football 493 and softball 399, so basically if you’re playing any of these resorts mentioned in this paragraph, your chances of getting a college scholarship or close to nothing, because too many people practice sports and there are not enough scholarships handed out by these rich colleges give children the opportunity to play the sport and to get an education.

I have been around the United States checking out soccer clubs very often, I do so because my son is a future professional, so I hope. One soccer club in particular that I noticed that had experienced coaches and a very good infrastructure was the Port Orange Soccer club based in Florida roughly an hour north of Orlando and 45 minutes south of Jacksonville where professional soccer teams play therefore the culture of soccer in that specific area is very high, consider that one out of three children in that town play soccer rather than any other national sports that are a lot more popular anywhere else in the country.

Do you have your children in soccer? If you do I suggest you keep them in soccer, if you don’t then I suggest once again that you put them in soccer, it could be a great investment for yourself and the opportunities for your children to continue playing in college and one may even professional are extremely higher than baseball, football, or basketball combined.

Is Ryan Lochte Lying About Rio Robbery?

I truly believe that he is lying, just make an obviously mine is pure speculation. But it seems that the taxicab driver does not confirm at all Ryan Lochte version of the facts, it is a matter of fact that the taxi driver said that the group of three athletes asked him where they could purchase, well whatever you know what I’m talking about. The Drivers to then to a location where they could purchase that thing and after a dispute on the price the sellers pointed a gun at the three athletes.

No one has been detained because the swim team moved out of the village after their competition ended, so we were not able to make the athletes available, that’s what the police were told when they reached the Olympic Village asking to speak to Ryan Lochte and another swimming athlete, apparently they had left the country overnight most probably to avoid being detained and questioned in Brazil and as we quite know an investigation in a country like Brazil could take months.

However Lochte confirmed his testimony: “We got pulled over, in the taxi, and these guys came out with a badge, a police badge, no lights, no nothing just a police badge and they pulled us over,” Lochte said. “They pulled out their guns, they told the other swimmers to get down on the ground — they got down on the ground. I refused, I was like we didn’t do anything wrong, so — I’m not getting down on the ground. And then the guy pulled out his gun, he cocked it, put it to my forehead and he said, ‘Get down,’ and I put my hands up, I was like ‘whatever.’ He took our money, he took my wallet — he left my cell phone, he left my credentials.”

You see, the reason that I supplies and have douts that this may have been a robbery, is that they left their cell phones, they let this for but they talk their wallet, one thing that many of you might not know, is that an American passport on the black market is worth up to $25,000, so they would take your wallet that had $500 in its but they would leave an American passport behind, something does not connect here.

What ever, the back safe and sound in the United States of America now!

Not that I had any doubts, but: Bolt is now history in Rio with third successive Olympics 100m gold medal

The 6-foot-5 sprinter overcame his typically slow unfurling from the blocks, gradually worked up speed, caught American Justin Gatlin with 40 metres left and was celebrating – pointing at his chest with his thumb – before he crossed the finish line. He even took the time to look both to his right and left to ensure that no one was trying to take that gold off him.

Bolt beat Gatlin, who was greeted by the fans with raucous boos due to his past of doping, by .08 seconds. Andre de Grasse of Canada won the bronze.

“I’m happy and I’m proud of myself. It wasn’t perfect execution, but I’m proud of myself. I wanted to set myself apart from everybody else and this is the Olympics, I have to do it.

“I came to this Olympics to win three gold medals, to prove myself again as one of the greats.”

The Water turns green at the Olympic diving pool

That issue took center stage on Tuesday when the Olympic diving pool that was crystal blue for men’s events on Monday had turned unsettlingly murky and green overnight.

green water olympics thomas cheng

The drastic change has left athletes, Olympic organizers, the media and spectators around the world befuddled. When asked about the change, one Olympic official told a reporter, “it wasn’t green this morning.”

So, in a matter of 4 hours the water turned green and no one can give an answer on what happened. I’ll tell you one thing: I would not swim in that water until they actually figured out what caused this to happen!!

So how many of you are watching the Olympics in Rio?

let me start quoting that I did not like that much the opening ceremony, don’t get me wrong, it was a great ceremony, but it was below expectations after seeing that of London four years ago and four years before that the opening ceremony in Beijing.

The game started off with a flying start with the USA bringing home the first gold medal awarded in the Olympics, then we saw Australia and surprisingly Italy takes us over in the awarded medals, I truly did admire the Italians in the fencing events, they basically pick up nearly all the metals and from what I see they are doing exceptionally well also swimming.

It is said that the United States of America will have to compete against China for who will bring home the most medals possible, however my going through all the different sporting events I definitely see the United States in predictions way ahead of China, and because there are so many disqualified Russian athletes I truly believe that the US and China will pick up a lot more medals than predicted.

One event that I find very interesting is the women’s rugby, it’s amazing how women actually practice this sport giving and taking beatings all along, also women’s soccer should be full of surprises considering that the United States actually did succeed quite a bit against France and Germany managed to draw only at the last minute against Australia.

Unfortunately two tourists have already been killed and many other month and injured during these first days of the games, from what I understand from what I read on the New York Times, there are 27,000 law enforcement officers that are walking the streets of Rio de Janeiro doing everything they can to protect the friends that have reached the Brazilian capital for the games.

Go team USA!!

USA – Argentina, we just got slapped in the face by Messi and Co.

I have to admit, that I was actually waiting for a better performance from team USA, they virtually never got a hand on that game at all, Argentina was all over us and I think that we have to access the defeat Stacy also that we literally got hammered by most probably the best national soccer team that there is in the world today.

At least we did not end up like Mexico that lost 7-0 to Chile the evening before, I still asking myself how that could have ever happened considering that Chile was the favorites but not by far and I personally thought that Mexico could Home the victory and made the final that’s going to happen this Saturday evening.

So the final will be Argentina Chile, it’s going to be Messi vs Vidal, The say that Argentina should easily when, but once again I think that the less favorite do have a very good shot at it. I guess Monday morning we can come back and talk about this final of the Copa America and see if I was right or not.

Copa América is on and Euro 2016 starts today!

So how many of you have been watching the copa America, considering that the final stages of being held here in the United States I would presume that the following would be, but unfortunately the numbers are not as good as everybody thought they would be, there has been a large increase in the following soccer past five years here in the US, however this event really didn’t bring the numbers that were expected.

Yesterday in Philadelphia during Uruguay and Venezuela the cameras would shoot on the crowd only to show massive empty spaces, basically so far 35% of the tickets have been sold due to enormously high prices and the facilities are mostly college football stadiums and therefore there is no shade, there are no adequate facilities, nothing like USA 90 where the standards and upgrades had to fit FIFA requirements and in my case it was a great success because the investment was massive and if they wanted the World Cup here in the United States they have to provide everything that they did not provide this time around.

copa-centenario-america

The most amusing thing and from what I understand has never occurred before in the history of worldwide software is that two major events will overlap one another starting from today, it is a matter of fact that Euro 2016 will kick off today at noon Pacific starting obviously with the home team France playing Romania.

So if you are a soccer fan and I know there are millions just like me here in the United States, tomorrow Saturday will be something absolutely exceptional taking into consideration that there will be two Copa America games and free to be held in France for Euro 2016 and believe it or not there will be no overlapping and therefore if you want to watch each and every individual game live, you actually can!

euro 2016

So let’s pull some stats here and let’s see how many people in the United States have been watching the continental event, unfortunately the numbers on very low and less than 13 million Tuned in on average every game, that is less than 5% of the population.

Now, let’s turn to Brazil that has basically the same number when it comes down to general population, over there the average viewer per game is 61 million.

Okay, now let’s go over to your and the predictions of today’s inauguration game to be seen by roughly 6,000,000 Americans, while in Europe the UEFA organization claimed the game will be seen by 87 million Europeans.

I love statistics as you can see LOL!

Hands up, how many of you are going to watch tomorrow evening’s champions league final

champions league

I had to admit that I am not a massive soccer fan, however I do follow events like the World Cup for the MLS playoffs, and in this case also the champions league final, the most bizarre thing about this particular final, is that the two teams that will challenge one another all the trophy with the big ears are both from the same country, even more bizarre they are both from the same city.

It is a matter of fact that tomorrow evening at 8:45 PM local time Atletico Madrid will be challenging Real Madrid and believe it or not this would actually be the second time that the two teams have actually in a champions league final.

The odds are leaning towards Real Madrid, however I personally believe that Atletico Madrid A very good shot at it, considering that they are in my opinion the team that is more physically informed at this time and I have a funny impression that they are definitely more motivated than Cristiano Ronaldo and his teammates.

It is said that 1.7 billion people will be connected and will be watching the final, last year’s final between Barcelona and Juventus was followed by 2 billion, and before the actual final started the estimated 1.5 billion, therefore we could see possibly 2.2 billion people from all over the world in and watching the game on television.

It is European soccer’s biggest event of the year, but if you check out the numbers it is by far the soccer events of the year excluding of course when national themes compete, just like we will see in a few weeks time the final stages of the European cup in Paris where 16 nations will clash to win the title of champions of Europe.
