Tesla’s Lithium – Ion Battery Factory
The construction on Tesla’s giant lithium-ion battery factory at the 980-acre site in an industrial park east of Reno, Nevada has already started and is scheduled to be completed in 2020. The enormous plant is intended to produce 500,000 battery packs a year which will mostly be used for the company’s declared affordable mass-market electric car, Model 3. Elon Musk, Tesla’s CEO, has said his company will start producing the vehicle in 2017 at their auto-assembly shop in Fremont, California.
The impressive manufacturing facility is expected to cost $5 billion and engage about 6,500 employees, thus creating more occupation. Reno which is known as the “Biggest Little City in the World” will not only attract tourists going to casinos but more employment as well. “Great Job” Tesla for the work opportunities!
